Travertine plaster walls in Los Angeles
Built up in heavy passes and cut back so the pores stay open, banded the way the quarried stone is. The most tactile surface we make.
What it is
A lime plaster laid on thick, allowed to draw, then scraped and sponged back so the voids left by the aggregate stay open. The banding is worked in by hand while it is soft, which is what stops it looking like a texture roller.
Where it works
Fireplace surrounds, entry walls, columns and anywhere a wall wants to read as cut stone. Better in a large plane than a small one — the banding needs room to run.
What to expect
Dust while it is cut back, and a sealed finish afterwards if it is somewhere hands go. Not for a wet room; the open pores are the point and they hold water.

Every colour here is the studio’s own, and every swatch is drawn from its hex value rather than photographed. Screens differ, and so does the light in your room — we make sample boards on site before anything goes on a wall, and that is what the colour is decided from.
